Moanada :|: Queen of the Soul Eaters

If you've read my first two blog posts you know I was a part of a fashion show and not only designed 9 outfits but also did the model's makeup as well, with help from two of my friends. I didn't want to just leave it at that; we painted the models and they rocked it from 10am until midnight at the earliest, with some of us going out for a VERY late midnight snack at Applebee's where we hung out until 3am. So since they were such troopers, I wanted to experience what they did that day and night, so I started my Halloween series of 2014 with the Queen of the Soul Eaters makeup that was rocked by Heather.

From paper to real life P.1

Hi guys!

So if you follow me on Facebook you most likely saw a lot of pictures from a recent event that I was a part of. If you are interested in how those pictures came to pass, then stick around and you'll see the very start of every single piece those lovely ladies were decked out in.

Putting Pencil to Paper

In a sketch book that was falling apart simply because I am always scribbling away in it with designs and face-charts, my mind was racing faster than my hand could keep up with it. I was designing outfits and dresses, head-pieces and jewelry, garters and cage tops; all for this event. I put up a post on my personal Facebook page asking if any of my model friends would like to participate; what I didn't expect was to have as many of them volunteer that did. Before an hour was up I had 4 ladies and by the end of the night I had 6 ladies and one man. When they were set in stone and the event was in their calenders as well as mine, I set to work assigning each one a design and getting measurements from each of them. Some were too far away to easily do fittings on the regular but all in all everything came together in the end.

At the tail end of a photoshoot that had nothing to do with the event, a photographer I regularly work with asked for me to add another model into my line-up. Of course I said yes, it was my first time working with the model but she and I just clicked. We were fandom-buddies! (haha)

Two week and a half weeks before the event another model that I regularly work with asked if I had room in my line up and at that point all the outfits were roughly 95% done, so I said yes and got to work designing an outfit for her as well.
